Intestinal parasites

It is called parasitism to the relationship between two species, whether plant or animal. In this regard there are two biological factors: the parasite and host. The parasite lives at the expense of another species, which is called the host.
On intestinal parasitism occurs when a species living within the host, in the intestinal tract. The parasite competes for the consumption of substances ingested nutrients that the host or as the case of Ancylostoma, it feeds on the blood of the host, adhering to the sides of the intestine.

The most important parasites that use human beings as a guest include:

Giardia lamblia

It produces the Giardiasis or Lambliasis.
This parasite is transmitted by feces containing the person carrying the eggs of the parasite and to be exposed to contact with water and / or food, produces contagion. Also parasites can be carried into the mouth by having dirty hands or by eating foods that have been in contact with flies that previously had contact with the feces. The malnutrition predisposes to giardiasis and on the contrary, in all cases, hygiene and good nutrition are beneficial factors.
Mothers should be aware that for nursing babies is very important to give them the chest to help them resist parasitic infections, because the defenses which produces breast milk in the baby are so great that if it would produce only the parasite ingreasar asymptomatic infection (without symptoms).

Symptoms of giardiasis are pasty or greasy stools, dizziness, irritability and temperatures up to 37.9 degrees.
To make the diagnosis should be made an analysis of feces.
It is with antiparasitic drugs.

Entamoeba histolytica

This parasite produces Amebiasis or dysentery and is also known as the “amoeba”. They live in stagnant water, puddles, ponds and water wells and underneath the leaves in a state of decomposition.

The modes of transmission are similar to that of giardiasis. The amoeba ingested to spend large intestine (colon), where they thrive. In some cases amebiasis can cause discomfort with alternating constipation and diarrhea, also can cause dysentery, diarrhoea that is painful exit with blood and mucus in abundance, it can give no disentérica colitis and forms of percussion caps with colitis intestinal perforation. Symptoms are loss of appetite, weight loss, decay and nervousness, headaches and sleep disorders.
The diagnosis is done through analysis of feces and antiparasitic treatment.
